Q&L #4

Over at the Craft Barn blog the Quote and Lyric challenge’s words are Marriage and Age, those entering can use either word or both; I have tried to use both so I came up with a quote on one side of the 4 x 4 inch and a lyric for the other side.

My first offering – AgeĀ  – is a quote by Oscar Wilde, just love this quote. Not sure whether this is ironic or did he have his tongue firmly in his cheek?

On white smooth card stock (measuring 3.75 x 3.75 inches) various shades of Versamagic Chalk Inks were used for the background and for the stamped flourishes (manufacturer unknown). The lady is a download from the internet. The faux stitches were done with red and black fine liner pens.

The second side is a song lyric Let’s Stick Together by Bryan Ferry.

Again various shades of Versamagic Chalk inks were used for the background and the foliage stamp. The silhouette is another internet download with black fine liner pen for the faux stitching. Both pieces of card stock were mounted onto a black square of card measuring 4 x 4 inches.

Thank you for looking x

  1. Beautiful! I LOVE the silhouette of the couple. So much being said with just a shadow. Lovely!

  2. Oh that would be a hard one to display… I love both sides. Needs to be put between 2 pieces of glass and put on a turnable frame. HA! Lovely Lynn!

I’m so glad you’re taking part. The Wilde quote is great and the Bryan Ferry song brings to mind his very louche ‘tache and Jerry Hall in a tigerskin effect outfit (I think).

  4. I’m super impressed that you found a quote AND lyrics for both words. That shows real initiative. Very impressive art, especially the second card that simply screamed for a silhouette. Beautiful job on both.

  5. Lurve Bryan Ferry, fab lyric and am singing the song as i type… the silhouette is a perfect representation of the words.

The Oscar Wilde quote is one i haven’t seen before and it’s fabulous as is that side of your page. Beautiful creations :-) xxx

  6. Super backgrounds and I love the “halos” you have put round your figures.

  7. They are lovely Lynn, great taste in music!!
Hope you are enjoying the sunshine.
Big hugs from Poppy and me xxx

  8. Oh my! These are beautiful. Very different from your usual brilliant creations. A departure from your lovely stamped scenes surprised me. I’m always amazed at your talent for taking individual stamps and making a picturesque scene with them. I love your creative “one brain cell”! :D

    Love you – Leslie
