Challenge card

Leslie over on her blog challenged us to make a card using embossing folders/dies/punches and there is a sketch for the challenge.

The challenge called for the use of design papers and certain placement of items which sat uneasily with me. I know of card makers who can pull out sheets of dp, ink, stamp(s), embellishments and make a card very quickly..I don’t work like that! I am an organic or dynamic crafter – great technical term! This term covers up the fact that I haven’t a clue what I’m going to do until I get there. So I tend to stamp an image or images, create a scene or whatever on a piece of cardstock (usually white) and then hope that this will serve as a spring board for a cohesive card. Lying in a box are several panels of stamped and coloured pieces ready for an idea to come forth; quite often an idea may come to mind as I am busily stamping, inking and colouring, sometimes that idea firms up or it may expand or, even, change shape completely.

Anyhow here is my card for the challenge, make of it what you will but this card took me a great deal of time lol.

  1. Gorgeous!! I see you baled on the ribbon πŸ˜€ lol but I love, love that lacy punch thing you put on instead. The beads and pearls are so elegant looking.

That stamped image of the sitting woman. That is beautiful. You say that is on acetate?! Stunning. And of course, it would not be a card by Lynn without the obligatory birdies πŸ˜€

Guess this was a real Challenge for you. Awesome work you have done. Girlfriend, you make me laugh – “Organic or Dynamic Crafter”. Well, you are most definitely Dynamic!

    Love you – Leslie

    • I just could not find a piece of ribbon I was happy with so used a co-ordinating piece of paper instead πŸ™‚ Used nearly a sheet of 6 x 6 inch paper trying to get the two sides lined up lol.
The sitting woman is stamped on acetate with Stazon black then on the reverse side various colours of inks and mists were put on, a good few squirts of glossy accents on top of the colours and then crumple up tissue paper, smooth it out slightly and press it down onto all the gloop with a slight smooshing action to mix it all up and allow to dry. Once dry trim to size. Great fun to do πŸ™‚
Thank you for your encouraging comments Girlfriend x
      Love and hugs
