Colour theme postcard

The lovely Sam set us a colour theme for the postcard swap on UK Stampers . The postcard swap is a monthly affair and is good fun, I sometimes wonder what the postmen and women think when they have these hand made postcards to deliver – do they have a smile at some of the images? I’d like to think they cheer the posties as they go about their deliveries 🙂

September postcard’s theme is Colour

I found the image on the internet and set it on an inked background. The ink colour shows as blue but is in fact a purple colour and this as been overstamped with a crackle background stamp, the sentiment is computer generated and is a line from the poem The Warning by Jenny Joseph. The whole poem can be read here . I like the feeling behind the poem of not sliding into old age but of going with a fight!

The Red Hat Society came into being based on this poem and more can be read about how it all started here

Materials used for the postcard:

white cardstock 300gsm

image from internet

computer generated sentence

Inks – Whispers Rio Purple, Distress ink Spiced Marmalade

Stamp Creative Expressions Crackle background.

Thank you for looking 🙂

  2. I love this card! Perfect! I am a fan of the poem and the Red Hat Society too…so this was a fun post all around! I think your postal workers are bound to get a smile and no doubt have begun to look forward to your monthly exchanges. Art makes people happy….or at least it should! Thanks for sharing – it certainly brought a smile to my face!

  3. This has got to be the cutest post card I’ve ever seen! I’ve heard about the Red Hat Society and the happiness they inspire.

Once again, another project that is totally delightful and well done. I’m sure the person who receives this post card will be in a fit of giggles and have a smile upon her face for days 😀

Good to see a new posting of your awesome work.

    Love you – Leslie
