Quotes and Lyrics #9

I’m still in with this challenge, now that is a miracle but now that the longer days are here it is a scramble to do posts! Doesn’t make sense? Well at this time of the year I spend more time out tending our rather large garden and less time on the internet- well that isn’t true I do spend time on the internet but by nigh time my one brain cell doesn’t function well enough to string words together for a post. Okay excuses made reasons given for dilly dallying.

A huge thank you to everyone who left lovely comments last time, I think I managed to get around to most folks blogs and, if I didn’t, many apologies.

The challenge on Craft Barn this fortnight was to use Unique and/or Fame. There are many quotes for Unique and I loved this one found on this site, my favourite site for quotes

Unique - love his hairdo!

Unique – love his hairdo!

Now isn’t that a fabulous hairdo? This fella went very well with the Orson Welles quote.

Supplies:

Inks – Versamagic Mango Madness

             Distress Ink Spiced Marmalade

Stamps – Clarity corner stamp

White and black card from stash

quote and  image from Brainy Quote

Fame

Well the only song that came to mind for this word and it had to be David Bowie (again!) Just couldn’t come up with a suitable image to complement the lyrics though; I obviously need more stamps!

  1. The ‘Unique’ card made me laugh out loud!!! LOVE it. I pinned it so I could see it often and let it make me smile.

  2. Oh my gosh Lynn, what kind of chicken is that? I almost wet my pants. LOL

Visiting from The Craft Barn – I love your bird picture and the quote is indeed perfect for it. I like the brainy quotes site too. I’m not a fan of David Bowie so don’t know the song, but I do disagree with you thinking the image isn’t right, I think it’s perfect – I’m sure it’s Wyatt Earp and he is very famous! :o)

I am afraid your chicken is overshadowing your gentleman! It makes me laugh and it illustrate the quote so well… In my opinion, one can NEVER have enough stamps!

  7. LOVE BOTH ENTRIES !! Guess you’ll be busy in the next few days in the graden – me too still hoping for some crafty time tho xx

A truly unique image for the Orson Welles quote. Your fame entry is cool too – I love the eye-patch man.

  9. I feel a lot like you. Here it is late at night and my one brain cell is trying to catch up before the next challenge occurs. I’ve also been in the garden. Not really large, but since I’m the only one here (Bleubeard is no help whatsoever) to work it, I find myself spread pretty thin this time of year, too.

You always come up with the best quotes. And that chicken is so, so funny. Got a BIG laugh at its expense. Your eye patch man (and of course the lyrics) is very clever, too. You have a truly fun sense of humor, even when it’s one brain cell pushing it. Really enjoyed both of these.

  10. That ostrich is one “Wild Thing” and I love it! That is a wonderfully fun image and quote.

Your second item, I don’t know why, makes me think of Sean Connery and his masculine stance. I enjoyed both of your offerings in this round of Q&L.
    Love you – Leslie

  11. Great quote with the ostrich – love it! And the fame entry looks really nice too!

  12. So cool, that’s a wonderful idea.

  13. Two great pieces, the bird is wonderful! xx

  14. That bird is fab, definitely unique lol. And yes I agree you never have the stamp you “need”

  15. Both entries are fantastic, that fabulous hairstyle really gets you to look at the quote with a smile! The gentleman crafter is perfect for Bowie’s lyrics… 🙂 xxx

  16. Where did you find that picture of me first thing in the morning?!! Well done on reaching the Wall of Fame – very much deserved for your fun entry. Your second piece is in complete contrast to the first. Love the image.

BTW you can never have too many stamps!
