Q&L #19
Almost the end of another fortnight challenge over on Craft Barn with the words Patience and/or Better . I think I visited everyone for last fortnight’s challenge but couldn’t leave comments for Carol in Kiwi land, Vicky or anyone who uses Facebook or Flickr. Thank you all for the lovely comments left for my entry in the challenge #18, it seems that quite a few of us had less than happy childhoods. Right on to challenge #19!
I thought this quote for Patience was amusing, it came from Arnold H Glasow, an American business man and humourist

The quote came from Brainy Quotes site; the background was created with Distress Inks Broken China and Dusty Concord with the images stamped in Archival Jet Black. Stamps used were Papermania Urban stamps – All Aboard Postmark and Oxford Impressions the Bird Nest.
Better:
This word brought to mind the Mama Cass song “It’s getting better” and the words I have used are from the chorus.

For the background I brushed on colours from the Colorbox Primary selection and used Archival Jet Black for the image, the stamp is one of Crafty Individuals -CI-193.

I’ve never heard of that song, but the lyrics certainly fit the challenge. Both entries are great. I really enjoyed the quote, and like you, found humor in it.

Thanks for your comment and I must tell you that I too have been to Hameln/ Hamlin. My Dad was stationed there during WW2 and I tried to find families of some of his old mates. I took some souvenirs in to the museum there. It’s a wonderful town.

First, your second comment about Remembrance Day being closest to Nov. 11 was noted in the paragraph where I quoted the VA.gov. They talked about the Cenotaph and such, and also explained wreaths are laid on Sunday nearest Nov. 11.
Second, the first comment about more than just those from the UK are represented, came from the show I saw on PBS about the poppies in the moat. The narrator asked the significance of the poppies, and the interviewee said something like, you have to remember, these represent those young men who were British. Not Americans, Japanese, Canadians, or Australians. I took that as gospel, and for that I apologize. I suspect others who saw the show may have been under the same assumption as I. After all, the guy being interviewed was definitely British. Again, my apologies for my obvious error.

You asked about the blue image on my Christmas cards – I am so sorry, I have not a clue where it came from. So many people liked those cards and I cannot replicate them as I haven’t a clue what the image is from. I know I used a stamp belonging to a lady I used to do workshops for but she gave up long ago and these were just some images I had ready done and not used. So sorry.
